Headed up by local jazz icon Rob Ewing and making their Jup debut, Swerve Control is a ferociously adventurous new band co-led by Darren Johnston on trumpet, Kai Lyons on guitar, Rob Ewing on bass, and Dillon Vado on drums. Their expansive improvisational approach is inspired by the late 60's Miles Davis groups and informed by the members' engagement with Brazilian, Cuban, and Balkan rhythms. The band is dynamic and playful, guided by musical sincerity and deep listening.
